Register your domain name... What to register?
When registering your domain name, consider registering different top level domains,
eg, whatever.com, whatever.net, whatever.org, whatever.tv, etc. This may become important in preventing competitors from stealing traffic from you by registering alternative domain endings.
Similarly, consider alternate spellings and common misspellings of your chosen domain name. As an example, which of the following are correct company and domain names?
Note that even though Chevrolet is the correct spelling, Chevrolette.com
also takes you to the correct URL, using domain forwarding (also called URL forwarding),
a free service. Perhaps Chevrolet should also register Chevrolay.com and Shevrolet.com?
The same is true for the use of hyphens. Hyphens can make it easier for
potential visitors to remember and properly spell your domain name. Some search engines also
rate sites better when hypens are used. As an example, several different domain names will
